Ovulation induction with the help of injections

When they get into the human body in injection form, they went on to stimulate the ovaries to produce more eggs and overcoming the natural tendency of the ovaries to produce only a single mature egg within a natural cycle. A Daily dose of gonadotropins for 7-10 days is then brought in use in order to take care of the ovulation problems whilst producing more one egg. Gonadotropin ovulation induction treatment cycle is also been known as Controlled Ovarian Hyperstimulation (COH), and require proper monitoring of the ovaries and blood hormone levels on a daily basis.

Side effects of Ovulation induction

Ovulation induction Apart from its benefits, there are also certain side effects attached to it. Women which are pregnant or suspected of carrying health issues like cancer, or large ovarian cysts must not be injected with injectable gonadotropins. On the other side, multiple births (20% of pregnancies following COH cycles) and ovarian hyper stimulation syndrome are one of the other complications out of this whole process. Whilst multiple births would be a possibility, there are chances of triplets, quadruplets to be born out in the process. OHSS can be termed as a serious medical condition for the ovaries which may get over-responsive by gonadotropins, and may result in the accumulation of cysts and fluid accumulation in the abdomen part and lungs. The condition can prove fatal if not treated on time and you really need the help of a reproductive specialist in order to get the same treated.
